This Peach BBQ Chicken recipe is everything you love about barbecued chicken, but even better because you don't have to go outside to cook it!

I don't know about you, but if I have the chance to achieve the same crispy chicken slathered in my favorite BBQ sauce without sweating over the hot grill, i'm takin' it!

We made our own Peach BBQ sauce and it is the perfect mix of sweet and spicy! You can always go and pick up your favorite BBQ sauce at the store, but where is the fun in that?! Making it yourself is so easy AND you can control the ingredients that go into it!

Make a larger quantity of this Peach BBQ sauce than we did and store it in the fridge for next time!

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs. chicken drumsticks
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 Tbsp olive oil
  • 2 Tbsp minced fresh garlic
  • 2 Tbsp minced fresh ginger
  • 1/4 cup orange juice
  • 1 cup peach preserves
  • 2 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 3 Tbsp brown mustard
  • 1 Tbsp smoked paprika
  • 2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer oven to 400F.

  2. Pat dry the drumsticks. Brush on some olive oil and season with salt and pepper on both sides.

  3. Place on the baking pan accessory or the mesh rack accessory and cook for 10 minutes, flipping halfway.

  4.  Next make the Peach BBQ Sauce: Heat up 1 Tbsp. olive oil in a pan and add in the garlic and ginger paste. Cook for a couple of minutes.

  5. Then add in the orange juice, peach preserves, apple cider vinegar, brown mustard, smoked paprika, salt and the red pepper flakes. Let that simmer for 10 minutes and set aside.

  6. Remove the partially cooked chicken and baste on the Peach BBQ Sauce. Cook for another 10 minutes.

  7. Once done, baste with more BBQ sauce. You can choose to eat them at this point or cook for an additional 3-5 minutes to crisp further.

  8. Enjoy with any side of your choice!
