Benefits of a Ceramic Coated Insert Pot

What are the benefits of a ceramic coated insert pot for pressure cooking?

When it comes to choosing the best pressure cooker for your home there are a lot of features to discuss. How much can It cook? What are the presets? How much does it cost? But there’s one question you may not think of: what is the insert pot made of? Similar to when we are picking out cookware- this decision is important. Here are some of the reasons our pressure cookers come with a ceramic coated insert pot.

Benefits

1. Easy to clean

The wonderful thing about ceramic coating is that it is non-stick, making it super easy to clean. It doesn’t matter what was cooked. Food will come off with minimal effort. All you need is some warm, soapy water and a non-abrasive sponge (or cloth) and the mess will easily glide off.

 2. Heats up fast

Sometimes you are so hungry you can barely wait to eat! With a ceramic coated pot, it takes less time to heat than with a stainless steel pot. Stainless steel is more resistant to high temperatures therefore your food takes longer to cook. A ceramic coated insert takes little to no time to heat up and this is most helpful when using “Sauté”.

3. Affordable

The cost to make ceramic coated cookware is cheaper than stainless steel, which means that it's priced lower for you. Save your money for what matters most to you.

4. Easy to lift

When it's time to take out your insert pot, you don't want to struggle. Especially if you're lifting it with food still in it. Ceramic coated cookware weighs less than stainless steel, making it easier on you.

5. No need for a lot of oil

Some recipes require you to sauté beforehand. Well with this coating, the need for oil is minimized. Not only is this good for your health in the long run, but you are only using what you need, therefore wasting less.

Negatives

There are two sides to any story, much like this one. Here are some negatives when it comes to choosing non-stick ceramic coating.

1. Metal utensils can scratch easily

If you're not careful, the inside of your pot may get scratched. However, this is only if you use metal utensils and scrape the sides accidently. This may not be that big of a deal to some, but to others it’s a huge deal. For example, those who suffer from Lyme disease should either be extremely careful or purchase a pressure cooker with a stainless-steel insert.

2. Doesn't last as long as stainless steel

A fantastic thing about stainless steel is if you buy one made of quality material, it'll last a long time. It might even last longer than ceramic coated cookware, however, if you are leaning towards a ceramic coated insert pot. However you can always replace the insert down the road.
